7-Day Bareboat Catamaran Charter from Saint-Tropez to Corsica - Calvi, Girolata, Ajaccio and Bonifacio

Corsica is not a “nice add-on” - it is a proper offshore commitment, and that is exactly why it feels so rewarding. This bareboat charter from Port de Saint-Tropez is built for sailors who want more than coastal scenery: open-water passages, rugged island landscapes, and ports with a distinct identity. The service is designed to keep logistics reliable and the start seamless, so your attention stays where it belongs - on weather windows, routing, navigation, and the satisfaction of handling a serious sailing week with confidence.

Southern France offers excellent infrastructure, and Saint-Tropez gives you a prestigious base with premium facilities and strong operational support. That matters when your itinerary includes long crossings of roughly 110 nautical miles each way. With good planning and stable conditions, this route takes you to Calvi, the protected feel of Girolata, the city energy of Ajaccio, the calmer harbor of Propriano, and the dramatic entrance of Bonifacio - then positions you back north for a clean, daylight return to the mainland.

About Our Service in Saint-Tropez and Offshore Corsica Sailing

This charter format is ideal for capable sailors who want full autonomy: you decide your departure timing, manage onboard routines, and plan each leg based on real conditions rather than a fixed script. At the same time, the charter operation is structured to support that independence - streamlined reservation steps, clear documentation, efficient marina coordination, and practical briefing procedures so you start the week organized. For an offshore itinerary, professional support on the ground is not about hand-holding - it is about ensuring you are not slowed down by avoidable friction when a weather window opens.

Day 1 - Saint-Tropez to Calvi is the defining passage: an early departure for an offshore crossing of about 110 nautical miles, typically ten to eleven hours. This is a day that rewards disciplined seamanship - solid route planning, steady watchkeeping, and a realistic understanding of sea state. Arrival in Calvi is planned for early evening, with marina berthing offering full services and the best kind of relief: a safe harbor, a proper rest, and the sense that the week has truly begun.

Day 2 - Calvi to Girolata shifts from offshore focus to coastal beauty. Around three hours along Corsica’s rugged western coast brings you to Girolata, a place that feels intentionally untouched. Anchoring is limited due to protected status, so early arrival is essential. Once settled, the afternoon becomes simple and perfect - swimming, quiet deck time, and an overnight that feels far removed from the mainland tempo. Compliance with environmental rules is part of respecting why this place still feels wild.

Day 3 - Girolata to Ajaccio runs south for roughly four to five hours, with the coastline offering a steady stream of coves and dramatic contours. Ajaccio is a practical stop as well as an interesting one: the marina provides strong refueling and provisioning options, and it is a good moment for technical checks after the early offshore push. Ashore, the city delivers history and atmosphere, and onboard it offers something equally valuable - a controlled reset before continuing down the coast.

Day 4 - Ajaccio to Propriano is a calmer leg of around three hours, and it plays an important role in the pacing of the week. If conditions allow, this is a good day to add a swim stop en route, letting the charter feel like a holiday rather than a delivery run. Propriano offers a sheltered harbor that suits overnight stays, with an easy feel that keeps the crew rested and ready for the more technical arrival at Bonifacio later in the week.

Day 5 - Propriano to Bonifacio takes approximately four hours and demands attention to winds and approach planning. Bonifacio is visually unforgettable - dramatic limestone cliffs and a harbor entrance that feels carved into the island. Timing your arrival with good light improves comfort and safety, especially for crews who prefer conservative navigation. Once berthed, the evening is pure reward: a historic citadel above you, calm water below, and the satisfaction of having brought your own yacht in under your own decisions.

Day 6 - Bonifacio to Northern Corsica (Calvi Area) is the strategic reposition. An early departure and roughly six hours of sailing north sets you up for the return crossing without forcing a risky, last-minute offshore push. This day is about smart seamanship - choosing manageability over bravado. It also gives you time to refuel, rest, monitor forecasts, and ensure the final day starts with the best possible conditions.

Day 7 - Calvi to Saint-Tropez repeats the offshore discipline of Day 1: an early departure for another ten to eleven hour crossing back to the mainland. The objective is simple - maximize daylight, keep the approach clean, and arrive early evening with enough buffer to avoid rushed decisions. Returning to Saint-Tropez after a Corsica loop feels different than returning from a coastal week. It feels earned.

About Our Catamaran - Lagoon 42 (2022)

For an itinerary that includes long offshore legs, the platform matters, and the 2022 Lagoon 42 is designed for stable comfort without sacrificing practicality. The boat’s well-balanced layout supports long days underway: generous cockpit seating that stays usable, a smooth flow between indoor and outdoor living, and deck spaces that invite both sun and quiet. Open sightlines help communication on board, while protective shade keeps the cockpit comfortable during the longest passages.

Accommodation is arranged in four double cabins with private facilities, which makes a major difference on an offshore-heavy itinerary. People can rest properly, privacy is built in, and the boat stays organized even when everyone is onboard for a full passage day. Smooth handling and intuitive systems support relaxed sailing for capable crews, allowing you to focus on seamanship rather than fighting the yacht. The Lagoon’s stable movement and reassuring control are especially appreciated when sea state shifts mid-crossing and you want the boat to feel composed.

If your crew wants a route that feels like a real achievement - not just a scenic loop - this is the one to secure early.
