Travel from Chile's central Pacific coast into the spectacular channels of Patagonia before rounding Cape Horn and continuing north to Buenos Aires on this private 20-day luxury sailing charter. The route connects Valparaiso with Puerto Montt, Chiloé, remote Chilean settlements, the Strait of Magellan, Ushuaia, Patagonia's Atlantic coast and the capitals of Uruguay and Argentina. A 106-metre Oceanco sailing yacht provides the range, extensive guest facilities and sophisticated service environment required for a voyage of this scale.

About Our Private Patagonia Charter Service

Valparaiso's established maritime infrastructure and Pacific location make it a fitting departure point for an ambitious southern expedition. Embarkation is coordinated with attention to luggage, accommodation preferences, dining requirements and individual requests. Once aboard, guests receive a complete orientation before the yacht leaves the historic Chilean waterfront and turns toward the colder, wilder environments of southern South America.

The service is delivered by 27 experienced crew members responsible for navigation, safety, technical operations, culinary preparation, housekeeping and individual guest care. This substantial professional team supports smooth offshore passages and attentive hospitality in isolated cruising grounds. The itinerary may be personalized where feasible, although Patagonia and Cape Horn routing remains subject to weather, sea conditions, harbour permissions and the captain's professional judgement.

Your 20-Day Patagonia, Cape Horn and Río de la Plata Route

Day 1 - Valparaiso, Chile: Arrive at Valparaiso for a professionally coordinated welcome and embarkation. After meeting the crew and completing safety procedures, explore the yacht's three decks and settle into the accommodation. Departure reveals Chile's central coastline as the vessel begins its southbound passage toward the country's lake and fjord regions.

Day 2 - At Sea: Continue south through Chilean Pacific waters. Guests can relax beside the pool, enjoy the deck jacuzzi, visit the cinema or make use of the wellness suite while the yacht covers the distance toward Puerto Montt. The first full navigation day establishes an easy onboard rhythm supported by customized dining and attentive service.

Day 3 - Puerto Montt, Chile: Reach the gateway to Chile's Lake District and northern Patagonian fjords. Explore the waterfront and local markets or arrange an excursion toward Puerto Varas and the surrounding volcanic scenery. Back aboard, the changing landscape signals the yacht's transition from open Pacific coastline into more intricate southern cruising grounds.

Day 4 - Castro, Chiloé, Chile: Visit Chiloé Island and its colourful capital, known for palafito houses, historic wooden churches and a strong regional identity. Guests may discover local seafood, architecture and island traditions before returning aboard. Navigation resumes through the archipelago toward increasingly remote Patagonian channels.

Day 5 - At Sea, Patagonian Channels: Cruise among forested islands, fjords and mountain-lined waterways. Exterior decks and panoramic interior areas offer exceptional positions from which to observe the landscape while the crew manages the demanding navigation. The day's progress brings the yacht closer to Puerto Chacabuco and the Aysén region.

Day 6 - Puerto Chacabuco, Chile: Arrive in a dramatic setting of mountains, forests and waterways. A private excursion may explore selected landscapes of the Aysén region, while guests preferring a slower day can enjoy the yacht's spa and leisure amenities. Departure continues south through Chile's deeply indented Patagonian coastline.

Day 7 - Caleta Tortel, Chile: Discover a remote settlement recognized for wooden walkways and its extraordinary fjord-side location. Access and activities depend on conditions, but the destination offers an intimate view of life in isolated Patagonia. Return aboard for a refined evening as the yacht proceeds toward Puerto Edén.

Day 8 - Puerto Edén, Chile: Reach one of Chilean Patagonia's most isolated inhabited communities, surrounded by channels, mountains and wilderness. A respectful shore visit can reveal the settlement's maritime character and cultural heritage. Afterward, continue deeper into the southern fjords toward Puerto Natales.

Day 9 - Puerto Natales, Chile: Arrive at the gateway to some of Patagonia's most celebrated landscapes. Subject to timing, a tailored excursion may introduce the region's mountains, lakes and expansive scenery. Guests return to the comfort of the yacht before navigation begins toward the Strait of Magellan.

Day 10 - Strait of Magellan, Chile: Navigate one of the world's most historically significant natural passages. Remote islands, powerful waterways and mountain scenery surround the vessel as it travels between the Pacific and Atlantic regions. The yacht's expansive social areas provide warm, comfortable observation spaces throughout this memorable transit.

Day 11 - Punta Arenas, Chile: Visit the historic Patagonian port of Punta Arenas. Museums, regional architecture and the waterfront reveal the city's role in southern exploration and maritime trade. Following the shore programme, return aboard and continue toward the Beagle Channel and Tierra del Fuego.

Day 12 - Ushuaia, Argentina: Cross into Argentina and arrive at the world's southernmost major city, framed by mountains and the Beagle Channel. Explore Ushuaia and its surrounding landscapes or enjoy a privately arranged regional activity. The crew prepares the yacht for the exposed waters associated with Cape Horn.

Day 13 - Cape Horn, Chile: Weather permitting, approach the legendary southern headland where the Pacific and Atlantic oceans meet. Navigation is governed by safety and the captain's assessment, but the occasion offers one of the voyage's defining experiences. Once around the cape, the yacht turns northeast toward Argentina's Atlantic waters.

Day 14 - At Sea, Cape Horn to Argentina: Cover a significant stretch of the southern Atlantic while enjoying the yacht's indoor and outdoor lifestyle facilities. Guests may schedule a massage, visit the hammam, exercise in the gym or watch a film. The crew maintains a carefully monitored course toward Puerto Madryn.

Day 15 - Puerto Madryn, Argentina: Arrive on the wildlife-rich coast of northern Patagonia. Depending on season and availability, a guided excursion may explore the Valdés Peninsula region and its remarkable marine environment. Return aboard later in the day for dinner and continued navigation north.

Day 16 - At Sea, Argentina: Follow Argentina's extensive Atlantic coastline toward the Río de la Plata. The sea day offers time for unhurried dining, wellness treatments, swimming and social occasions. Personalized service continues throughout the passage as the scenery and climate gradually change.

Day 17 - Punta del Este, Uruguay: Reach Uruguay's fashionable coastal destination, where beaches, contemporary restaurants and stylish waterfront districts create a cosmopolitan change of pace. Spend the day ashore or combine sightseeing with a relaxed afternoon aboard before continuing toward Montevideo.

Day 18 - Montevideo, Uruguay: Explore Uruguay's capital, including Ciudad Vieja, its markets, cultural landmarks and long waterfront. A personally arranged itinerary may focus on architecture, dining or local heritage. The yacht departs later for the short passage across the Río de la Plata.

Day 19 - Buenos Aires, Argentina: Arrive in Argentina's energetic capital and begin exploring its grand avenues, historic districts, museums, restaurants and cultural attractions. Guests may return to the yacht for an elegant final dinner or remain ashore for a carefully arranged evening experience.

Day 20 - Buenos Aires, Argentina: Enjoy breakfast aboard and complete final arrangements before disembarkation. Transfers can be coordinated according to onward travel plans. The voyage concludes after linking Chile's Pacific heritage, the Patagonian fjords, Cape Horn and the sophisticated cities of the Río de la Plata.
