Description
This 10-day Galápagos expedition is designed for travelers who want to experience the archipelago as a living ecosystem rather than a sightseeing destination. Operating entirely within the Galápagos Marine Reserve, the voyage combines land excursions, coastal navigation, and immersive marine activities to reveal the extraordinary biodiversity that made these islands world-famous. From volcanic coastlines and pristine beaches to nutrient-rich waters teeming with life, each day offers close, responsible encounters guided by expert naturalists.
The journey begins on mainland Ecuador and transitions seamlessly to the islands, allowing you to focus on exploration rather than logistics. Daily activities are carefully aligned with park regulations and wildlife behavior, ensuring meaningful access while supporting conservation priorities. Zodiac landings, snorkeling sessions, kayaking, paddleboarding, and guided nature walks create a varied rhythm that suits couples, families, and solo travelers alike.
About Our Service in the Galápagos Marine Reserve
This fully managed expedition service operates with a high staff-to-guest ratio, ensuring personalized guidance and smooth coordination of daily activities. Naturalist guides lead every excursion, interpreting animal behavior, geology, and ecological relationships that define the Galápagos. Flexible routing allows the expedition team to adapt to wildlife activity and environmental conditions, while onboard briefings and interpretive sessions deepen understanding between landings. Snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding are included, providing multiple ways to experience the islands from both land and sea.
Day 1 - Arrival in Ecuador | Quito or Guayaquil
Arrive in Ecuador at any time during the day, either in Quito, set high in the Andes, or in the coastal city of Guayaquil. An included transfer brings you to your hotel for an overnight stay. The day is reserved for rest, acclimatization, or optional independent exploration, preparing you for the expedition ahead.
Day 2 - Flight to the Galápagos | Embarkation
Early morning transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to the Galápagos Islands. Upon arrival, meet the expedition team and embark the ship around midday. After orientation and safety briefings, enjoy lunch onboard before your first afternoon Zodiac landing, introducing the archipelago’s unique wildlife and volcanic terrain.
Day 3 - North Seymour and Bartolomé Islands
Begin the day at North Seymour Island with a guided walk among blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and sea lions. In the afternoon, sail to Bartolomé Island and hike to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Pinnacle Rock, one of the Galápagos’ most iconic landscapes. Snorkeling or swimming along volcanic shores concludes the day.
Day 4 - Isabela Island | Volcanic Landscapes
Cross the Equator as the ship approaches Isabela Island, the largest island in the archipelago. Explore lava fields and rugged coastlines shaped by active volcanism. Zodiac cruising and snorkeling reveal marine turtles, rays, and occasional dolphins, while offshore waters offer opportunities to spot whales and sunfish.
Day 5 - Fernandina Island | Untouched Ecosystems
Fernandina Island presents one of the most pristine environments in the Galápagos. Walk across young lava flows while observing flightless cormorants, Galápagos penguins, and dense populations of marine iguanas. Kayaking and snorkeling in nutrient-rich waters provide close encounters with marine life.
Day 6 - Española Island | Birdlife and Beaches
Spend the day on Española Island, home to some of the archipelago’s most important bird colonies. Guided walks reveal Nazca boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, and, in season, waved albatross. The afternoon is spent at Gardner Bay, where white sand beaches and clear waters invite snorkeling alongside sea lions and reef fish.
Day 7 - Floreana Island | History and Marine Life
Explore Floreana Island, beginning with a lagoon often visited by flamingos. Visit the historic Post Office Bay, continuing a centuries-old tradition of informal mail exchange. Snorkeling and Zodiac cruising around nearby islets reveal rich marine biodiversity, including reef fish and sea lions.
Day 8 - Santa Cruz Island | Highlands and Conservation
Arrive near Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about conservation and breeding programs, then travel into the island’s lush highlands to observe giant tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat. Return to the ship in the late afternoon.
Day 9 - San Cristóbal Island | Disembarkation
After breakfast, disembark at San Cristóbal Island and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Quito or Guayaquil. Upon arrival on the mainland, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for rest, optional exploration, or international connections.
Day 10 - Departure from Ecuador
