A Refined Week Between Ancient Shores and Quiet Villages

This 7-night weekly skippered charter from Bodrum is designed for guests who want more than beautiful water alone. The Gulf of Hisarönü route brings together dramatic coastal scenery, historic landmarks, charming harbor towns, and unspoiled anchorages in a way that feels varied yet never rushed. Starting and ending in Bodrum, one of Turkey’s most established luxury yachting hubs, the journey combines the convenience of a high-quality embarkation point with a route that gradually reveals a quieter, more traditional side of the Turkish Riviera. Every detail of the charter is supported by an experienced crew, allowing guests to focus fully on the pleasure of the voyage rather than the logistics behind it.

What makes this itinerary especially appealing is its balance. There are scenic passages of manageable length, enough time for swimming and watersports, meaningful opportunities to step ashore, and several destinations that offer cultural or historical interest rather than simply another place to anchor. From the ruins of Knidos to the harbor life of Datça, from the secluded calm of Aktur to the famous sands of Kızkumu Beach and the understated charm of Selimiye, this route has depth. It is ideal for private groups who want a week that feels elegant and immersive, with each day offering a slightly different tone while maintaining the comfort and exclusivity of a fully crewed gulet charter.

Life Onboard Along the Gulf of Hisarönü

Day 1 - Embarkation in Bodrum

Guests board the yacht in Bodrum at 17:30 and are welcomed onboard for the start of a week shaped around relaxed luxury. After the initial briefing and cabin arrangements, there is time to enjoy the marina atmosphere, dine in port, or simply settle in with the ease that comes from stepping aboard a fully prepared private yacht. The first night in harbor offers a calm beginning before the route opens up the following morning.

Day 2 - Knidos

After breakfast, the yacht sets out on a scenic sail of around 4 hours toward Knidos, positioned dramatically at the tip of the Datça Peninsula. This is one of the route’s defining cultural stops. The archaeological site, amphitheater, and far-reaching sea views give the destination a very distinctive character, especially around sunset. Guests can explore the ruins, swim in clear water, and return to the yacht for an evening that feels both historical and serene.

Day 3 - Datça

A shorter sail of approximately 2 hours leads to Datça, where the atmosphere shifts from ancient landscape to lively yet relaxed harbor town. Datça is well suited to strolling, browsing local shops, stopping at cafés, and enjoying the sense of being in a real coastal community rather than a purely touristic stop. Guests can combine time ashore with swimming in nearby bays or simply return to the comfort of the gulet and enjoy the waterfront setting from deck.

Day 4 - Aktur

The cruise continues for around 2 to 3 hours toward Aktur, a region celebrated for pristine bays, pine forests, and exceptionally clear water. This is a day with a stronger emphasis on nature and pure relaxation. The anchorage invites long swims, paddleboarding, kayaking, and deckside lounging without interruption. Aktur feels sheltered and quiet, which makes it especially suitable for guests seeking privacy and a slower pace after town visits on earlier days.

Day 5 - Bencik Bay

A shorter scenic passage of about 2 hours brings the yacht into Bencik Bay, a narrow and beautiful inlet positioned between the Gulfs of Hisarönü and Gökova. The geography here is striking, with dramatic coastal shapes and a naturally protected anchorage. This is an excellent setting for photography, water activities, and simply appreciating how varied the Turkish coastline can be within one itinerary. The mood is peaceful, intimate, and deeply scenic.

Day 6 - Orhaniye and Kızkumu Beach

The route then moves toward Orhaniye, reached after roughly 2 hours of sailing. This stop is widely known for Kızkumu Beach, a remarkable shallow sand formation that creates the sensation of walking across the sea. Guests can swim, enjoy the unusual shoreline setting, and spend time in the local waterfront area with its restaurants and laid-back coastal energy. It is a distinctive stop that gives the week one of its most memorable visual moments.

Day 7 - Selimiye

The final full day takes the yacht on a gentle sail of around 1 to 2 hours to Selimiye, a fishing village known for calm water, relaxed waterfront dining, and elegant simplicity. Selimiye is the sort of place that closes a charter beautifully because it does not need to impress with scale or spectacle. Its appeal is subtler - peaceful scenery, authentic coastal rhythm, and an atmosphere well suited to a final dinner by the sea before returning to Bodrum.

Day 8 - Return to Bodrum and disembarkation

An early departure, often during the night or at first light, brings the yacht back toward Bodrum with approximately 4 to 5 hours of sailing. After breakfast onboard, guests disembark at 08:30, ending the charter with a full week of varied sailing, coastal culture, and quiet luxury behind them.

Designed for Comfortable, Fully Crewed Weekly Charters

The yacht assigned to this route is a 38-meter gulet with an 8-meter beam, offering the kind of space and stability that make weekly charters exceptionally comfortable. Originally built in 2008 and refitted in 2018, the yacht combines the warmth and character of a classic gulet with upgraded guest comfort. Accommodation is arranged in 6 cabins for up to 12 guests, making it a strong fit for private groups who want room to relax together without sacrificing personal space.

Air-conditioning is available 24 hours a day, which enhances onboard comfort throughout the itinerary, particularly after warm afternoons spent ashore or on the water. The interior salon and dining areas reflect traditional gulet charm, giving the yacht a welcoming social atmosphere for breakfasts, evening meals, and quiet moments indoors. Outside, multiple sunbathing and lounge decks allow different parts of the group to enjoy the yacht in different ways at the same time, whether that means sun, shade, conversation, or complete calm.

The experience is elevated further by a crew of 7 professional members who support the journey throughout. Their presence ensures the route runs smoothly, meals are handled with care, and guest requests can be managed with attention and flexibility. This is particularly important on an itinerary like Hisarönü, where the beauty of the week lies in the transitions between different kinds of destinations. Good crew service makes those transitions feel seamless.

The yacht is also very well equipped for guests who want to make the most of the sea itself. Onboard watersports equipment includes a jet ski, banana, ringo, water ski, wakeboard, a mable for 4 persons, 2 kayaks, and 2 stand-up paddleboards. Some anchorages encourage active afternoons, while others are perfect for a brief paddle followed by total relaxation. That flexibility is one of the reasons this yacht works so well for mixed groups with different holiday styles.

Why This Route Stays With You

The Gulf of Hisarönü itinerary stands out because it feels layered. It is not only about one beautiful bay after another, although there are plenty of those. It is also about old ruins, coastal villages, unusual natural formations, scenic passages, and the pleasure of returning each evening to the comfort of a large private gulet. There is variety without stress, movement without hurry, and a level of privacy that transforms the trip from a holiday into something more personal.

For guests searching for a weekly Bodrum charter that combines polished service with a more meaningful route, this cruise delivers strongly. It offers the comfort of a premium fully crewed gulet, the freedom of a flexible itinerary, and the memorable character of one of southwestern Turkey’s most rewarding sailing areas. It is a week built for guests who appreciate both beauty and substance in the places they visit.
